About Lingently

Lingently is an Android writing coach for people who use English every day but don't feel they write it at an advanced level. A small character floats over any app. Tap it, and your message comes back corrected, with a short reason for each fix and a more natural way to say it. Then you practise your own mistakes, so they stop coming back.

Why I built it

There is a stage in learning a language that nobody talks about. You understand almost everything. You read emails, watch series, follow meetings. But when you write, or speak, you can feel that it isn't quite there. Your sentences work, but they don't sound the way you want to sound. And you don't know what to change.

That stage is hard to leave, for one simple reason: nobody corrects you anymore. When you're a beginner, teachers and friends fix your mistakes. Once you're good enough to be understood, they stop. It feels rude to correct an adult, a colleague or a client. So the same small mistakes stay in your messages for years, and nobody tells you that there is a clearer, warmer or more professional way to say the same thing.

I built Lingently to be that honest friend. It doesn't wait for a class or a lesson. It works in the messages you are already writing, in WhatsApp, Gmail, Slack or anywhere else, at the moment you write them. It fixes what's wrong, it tells you why in one line, and it shows you how to sound better: more natural, more precise, more like yourself. Then it turns your own mistakes into a few minutes of practice, because the mistakes you made this week are the ones worth learning.

Who it's for

How we work

• We don't keep the text you check. It is sent securely to be checked, then deleted. Never password fields or SMS. See the Privacy Policy.
• Real examples, written by a person. Every article on this site is written or reviewed by a person, with realistic examples of the mistakes people make. We never quote real user messages.
• Honest comparisons. Our comparison pages are dated and say where the other tool is better.
• No fake numbers. No made-up user counts, ratings or reviews.
