Delete your Lingently account
Effective date: 17 October 2026
This page explains how to delete your account and data in Lingently, the AI writing coach app for Android, developed by Lingently ([legal name]).
Delete in the app (fastest)
- Open Lingently.
- Tap Me in the bottom bar, then the Settings icon.
- Tap Privacy & data.
- Tap Delete everything.
- Check the list of what will be deleted, then tap Continue and confirm with Delete everything.
It takes a few seconds. When it's done, you'll see "Everything is deleted." Lingently then starts fresh, as a new install.
You can also start from Settings › Plan › Delete account and data.
If deletion fails (for example, with no connection), nothing is deleted, and you can try again.
Delete without the app
Email [email protected] with the subject "Delete my Lingently account". Include:
- your Support ID. You can find it in the app under Settings › About & support › Support ID (tap it to copy);
- if you can, the approximate date you started using the app.
We will delete the account and confirm by email within 30 days.
Your account is anonymous: we don't have your name or email address. Without the Support ID, we may not be able to find your account. If you have already uninstalled the app, your account can no longer be used by anyone, because its sign-in key was stored only on your phone. You can still write to us and we will help as far as we can.
What is deleted
- Your anonymous account and its sign-in token.
- Your usage counts.
- Any reports you sent us (the reported text, reason and note).
- On your phone (in-app deletion): your check history, words, patterns, progress and settings.
We never keep the text you check, so there is none to delete.
What is kept, and for how long
- A hashed device ID (a salted SHA-256 hash, which can't be turned back into your device's ID), with the dates of your Pro trial. It is unlinked from your account and kept to prevent fraud, so the free trial can't be restarted on the same device.
- Purchase records. If you bought Pro, the purchase record is unlinked from your account and kept, so you can restore Pro if you install Lingently again. Google Play also keeps its own purchase records for its legal and tax reasons.
- Backups. Deleted data may stay in our daily backups for up to 7 days, then it is gone.
Cancel your subscription separately
Deleting your account does not cancel a Pro subscription. Google Play will keep charging you until you cancel there:
- Open the Play Store app.
- Tap your profile picture, then Payments & subscriptions › Subscriptions.
- Choose Lingently and tap Cancel subscription.
Delete only some data
To delete your check history but keep your account, words and streak: Settings › Privacy & data › Delete check history.
