Terms of Use

Effective date: 17 October 2026

These terms are an agreement between you and Lingently ("we", "us") for the Lingently app for Android and the website lingently.com (together, "the service"). By using the service, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use the service.

Lingently is run by an individual developer, [legal name], based in [country].

1. The service

Lingently is an AI writing coach. It checks text you choose to send, explains mistakes, suggests corrected and improved versions, and turns your mistakes into practice and a word bank. Features can be used in the app, from the floating character, the text selection menu and the Share menu.

We may add, change or remove features over time.

2. Your account

3. Plans, trial and subscriptions

Free

The Free plan has daily, weekly or monthly limits and shows an ad after a practice session. The current limits are shown in the app. We may change the Free plan's features and limits.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

5. AI output

6. Your content

Your text stays yours. You give us permission to process it only to provide the service: to check it and return the result. Your text is sent securely to be checked, then deleted. If you send a report, you give us permission to use it to improve the service.

You may use the results you get for any lawful purpose.

7. Our property

The app, the website, the characters, the design and the lessons belong to us or our licensors and are protected by law. We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the app on your own devices, under these terms. The name Lingently and its characters may not be used without our permission.

8. Third-party services

The service relies on Google Play (distribution and billing) and, for Free users, Google AdMob (ads). Their own terms apply to your use of them. We are not responsible for third-party services.

9. Disclaimers

The service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the extent the law allows, we make no promises that it will be error-free, uninterrupted, or fit for a particular purpose. Some features, such as the floating character, depend on your phone and Android version and may not work on every device.

10. Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows:

Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited by law, such as for fraud, or your rights as a consumer.

11. Ending use

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. We will change the effective date above, and tell you in the app if the change is significant. If you keep using the service after a change, you accept the new terms.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of [country]. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live, and you may bring claims in your local courts.
